Copia is a relaxed local eatery to drop in and enjoy waters edge, shared plates and set menu’s with a selection of New Zealand wines, craft beers, gins and cocktails. We include produce from our own restaurant garden and greenhouse on site. We are dedicated to sustainability, ethical dining and combining old world techniques with modern cooking.
We are passionate about community and ingredients, inspired by modern New Zealand seasonal cuisine and wine, committed to supporting local like minded suppliers using sustainable practices. There is a focus on New Zealand wines with the emphasis on organic and biodynamic practices, that most sympathetically reflect the place from which they originate.
Chef owners Ken O Connell and Sam Sykes have combined their cooking skills and experience in New Zealand Hatted and European Michelin Star restaurants to see what Auckland could offer in terms of produce, lifestyle and creativity. Copia is one of the Orakei restautants that is a must and is the only venue with an outlook over Hobson bay and the city skyline.
Ken and Sam work closely with farmers, fishermen and artisan producers and bring the personal connection to the food and menu with ingredients, to give you an authentic dining experience.
